Aline Soterroni

Aline Soterroni holds a master’s and PhD degree in Applied Computing from National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Brazil. Her background is in applied mathematics and computing with a special focus on optimization techniques for global optimization. Since 2012, she has been developing the regional version of the partial economic equilibrium model GLOBIOM for Brazil (called GLOBIOM-Brazil). Her current research topics are mostly related to land use modeling focused on reconciling environmental preservation with agricultural production. She is also interested in degraded land restoration, biodiversity impacts, climate change mitigation, land use policies and other policy efforts, such as supply chain agreements. Aline is a guest research scholar at the Ecosystems Services and Management department from the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (ESM-IIASA) and a Research Colaborator at the Earth System Science Center of the National Institute for Space (CCST-INPE).
